Feeding Recommendations
Feed ponies : 1 – 2kg per day (good condition)
Feed ponies : 3 – 4kg per day (to improve condition and growth)
Horses: 3 – 4 kg per day (good condition)
Horses: 5 – 6kg per day (to improve condition, growth and competition) o Don’t over feed – always split daily ration in 2 , never more than 0.5kg per 100kg of body weight
Always build your horse ration around good quality roughage – like Teff, Smutsvinger, Rhodes grass and
Lucerne.
